Austrian champions Salzburg have appointed both Ralf Rangnick and Gerard Houllier to the club's new-look coaching team, with Roger Schmidt named as head coach.
Rangnich, who has been linked with several managerial jobs since leaving Schalke last September, will serve as the club's sporting director, while former Aston Villa boss Houllier is the new global sports director.
Schmidt joins having guided 2. Bundesliga side Paderborn to fifth place in the league last season. The appointment follows the unexpected resignation of Ricardo Moniz earlier in June.
Work will begin in earnest ready for the new season for the new management team, with the side's Champions League qualifying campaign kicking-off on July 17, with the draw being made on Monday.
