Balzaretti to remain at Palermo

Palermo left-back Federico Balzaretti is set to remain at the club despite interest from Napoli.

Balzaretti, 30, is out of contract in a year's time and has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

However, Palermo are set to offer the Italy international a contract extension and president Maurizio Zamparini insists he will not be moving on.

"The only club that has asked me for Balzaretti is Napoli," Zamparini told Italian radio station Radio Radio. "(Napoli president Aurelio) De Laurentiis called me and asked if it was possible to sell Balzaretti to Napoli and I told him that the player would remain at Palermo."

AC Milan have also been linked with Balzaretti.
