Milan release Flamini

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed midfielder Mathieu Flamini will leave the club this summer.

• Milan to sign Constant on loan
• Agent: Aquilani to return to Reds

Flamini, 28, signed for Milan on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2008 but he is now out of contract and has failed to reach an agreement over an extension.

"The time has expired for Flamini and we have already told his lawyer that we will not wait any longer," Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Gennaro Gattuso has agreed a move to Sion in Switzerland, Clarence Seedorf is reportedly set to move to Brazil and Sulley Muntari has been ruled out for six months through injury.

Milan have signed Kevin Constant on loan from Genoa, but Galliani said another midfielder would arrive and refused to rule out a move for Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

Aquilani, 27, has spent the season on loan at Milan and made 23 appearances in Serie A but his agent had said he was set to return to Anfield.

"Before August 31, another midfielder will arrive," Galliani said. "It could be Aquilani or somebody else. We haven't spoken yet to Aquilani. He is a Liverpool player."
