Brighton swoop for Kuszczak
Championship side Brighton have swooped to sign former Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak on a two-year deal.
Kuszczak spent five years at the 20-time English league champions, making 50 appearances since joining from West Brom.
The 30-year-old former Poland international struggled to establish himself in the first team, finding himself behind veteran Edwin van der Sar before David De Gea arrived last summer from Atletico Madrid.
Kuszczak spent a portion of last season on loan at Watford and after becoming a free agent at the end of the season he has now joined Gus Poyet's side.
The Uruguyan told the club's official website: "There were clubs in England and abroad interested in Tomasz, but it says a lot for the ambition of this club that he wanted to sign for Brighton.
"We had been tracking his progress for some time and he will provide real competition to both Casper Ankergren and Peter Brezovan for the goalkeeper's jersey this coming season. That can only be a good thing for the team moving forward.''
