Stekelenburg happy at Roma

Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has no plans of leaving Roma this summer, despite the side's poor 2011-12 campaign and change of manager.

Stekelenburg, 29, had been reported as saying he was "surprised" by the appointment of new Roma coach Zdenek Zeman, but the Dutch stopper insists that he has no reason to worry.

The former Ajax keeper had been part of the Netherlands side at Euro 2012 that crashed out in the group stage and will now look to start afresh with club and country.

"I've never thought about leaving, I have no reason to," Stekelenburg told Gazzetta dello Sport. I'm happy in Rome, I have a contract and the team is good. Zeman? I've heard that he likes to play attacking football and that was the case with Luis Enrique too, so I'm used to that.

"I know that Zeman has already coached Roma before and that he did a good job - I have no motive to worry. Roma will be good enough to start again, as will Holland."

Roma finished seventh in Serie A last season under Spanish manager Luis Enrique, despite massive investment, a result which saw the former Barcelona B coach depart after just one season.
