Tottenham eyeing Moyes

Everton manager David Moyes could be targeted by Tottenham Hotspur as the club seek a successor to Harry Redknapp, according to ESPN sources.

Tottenham confirmed in the early hours of Thursday morning that Redknapp, 65, is to leave White Hart Lane after they failed to reach an agreement over a new contract, with his terms set to enter their final 12 months.

Moyes is currently the bookmakers' favourite for the position, while Wigan's Roberto Martinez has also been mooted as a potential candidate, and it is understood Spurs could look to hold discussions with the Toffees boss, who has been in charge at Goodison Park since 2002.

A source close to Everton told ESPN: "There have been rumours circulating for some time now that once Redknapp left Spurs would come calling for David Moyes."

Moyes, 49, has spent ten years in charge at Everton, having taken up the post following four years at Preston, and he has received plaudits for his work on Merseyside, with the coach impressing despite having a limited transfer budget at his disposal.
