Krul not distracted

Netherlands goalkeeper Tim Krul has brushed off speculation about his future, insisting he is happy at Newcastle.

Krul, 24, is part of the Dutch squad at Euro 2012, where he is understudy to Maarten Stekelenburg, but he has been questioned about his future.

A season of top-class performances have prompted talk of bids from Chelsea and Tottenham. Newcastle are well aware of the talent at their disposal and recently tied Krul to a five-year deal. It is a decision Krul does not regret as he sees a long-term future with the Magpies.

"It's all just talk," Krul said. "I've signed my five-year contract and I'm committed to Newcastle United.

"The club has not played in Europe for six years and I want to be a part of that. This club deserves European football. We've got everything, the stadium, the fans and an owner in Mike Ashley who's backing us."
