Thiago Silva: I'm staying at Milan

AC Milan defender Thiago Silva insists he is not tempted by the prospect of playing in the Premier League or La Liga and has pledged his immediate future to the Rossoneri.

• Milan determined to keep Thiago Silva
• Allegri: Ibra and Silva will stay
• Milan rubbish Ibra-City link

Silva, 27, has been in the headlines this week after Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini visited Milan, fuelling speculation that he was enquiring about the centre-back's availability.

However, Mancini and Rossoneri officials, including vice president Adriano Galliani and manager Massimiliano Allegri, have since stressed that there was no talk of a transfer, and the player himself - also previously tipped to move to Barcelona - has now publicly committed his future to the club.

"I have been told that for Milan I am a fundamental part of the team and non-transferable," Silva told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Am I tempted to play in the Premier League or La Liga? Absolutely not. I am happy at Milan and I want to stay.

"I spoke with Adriano Galliani before I left for Hamburg [where Brazil played a friendly against Denmark], and he told me: 'You can stay calm because you are not leaving this club'."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was also linked with a move to City as a result of Mancini's courtesy visit, but Silva says his team-mate is also staying at the San Siro.

"Ibrahimovic and I think the same way: we came to this club to win and we are staying for that same reason," Silva said.
