Luhukay takes Hertha helm
Hertha Berlin have appointed former-Augsburg manager Jos Luhukay as their new boss, following the side's relegation from the Bundesliga earlier this week.
Luhukay left Augsburg earlier this month, having assured them of survival in the club's first ever season in the Bundesliga and he has swiftly found a new challenge, even though he will drop to 2. Bundesliga.
Hertha had been coached by Otto Rehhagel for the final months of the season, but he was only contracted until the end of the season and Rehhagel, 73, insisted he was only a temporary solution.
"We are delighted that we have been able to take Jos Luhukay under contract for the next two years," Hertha's general manager Michael Preetz told reporters.
Luhukay, 48, has a reputation for guiding clubs to the top-flight, having achieved the feat with both Borussia Monchengladbach and Augsburg.
"I am looking forward to this extremely attractive challenge with Hertha Berlin,'' he told the club's official website.
