DC United up to second

DC United moved second in the Eastern Conference with a 2-0 win over Colorado.

Lewis Neal set up Dwayne De Rosario for the first after 25 minutes and Hamdi Salihi added a second on the hour, knocking in the rebound after Matt Pickens saved Branko Boskovic's header.

The win puts DC a point behind the New York Red Bulls and level with Kansas City, though they have played more games than their rivals.

Coach Ben Olsen said: "You could tell we had some soccer players out there, some guys who really know how to move the ball. It's never easy to go away from 'your starting 11' but we built depth and we have trust in it. We did a very good job, to the man."
