Nurnberg to sign Gebhart

Nurnberg have confirmed the signing of Timo Gebhart from Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart for next season.

Gebhart, a 23-year-old attacking midfielder, has agreed a four-year contract with the Bavarian club and will move for an undisclosed fee.

He will replace Philipp Wohlscheid, who will be joining Bayer Leverkusen.

Nurnberg general manager Martin Bader told the club's official website: "There are still a few formalities to clear up with Stuttgart, but the principle agreement is there."

Gebhart said: "Of course when you love football, you do follow your local clubs and I have been particularly impressed by the way Nurnberg have developed, especially with young, ambitious players.

"Therefore, I was honoured when Nurnberg approached me and I did not need to think for long. I can see a chance of playing regular football in a young team here."

Gebhart has already passed a medical in Nurnberg and will soon link up with Dieter Hecking's men. His new coach is excited about the prospect of working with the 23-year-old next season.

"Timo has extraordinary qualities and he will do our team good going forwards," he said. "We are delighted that another young player wants to come to Nurnberg to develop."
