Werder Bremen striker Markus Rosenberg has told Swedish television he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Rosenberg's contract is up for renewal, but he has told club bosses in a meeting this week that he will not be signing a new deal.
"We had a final chat and we are going to part company," the 29-year-old told TV5.
Rosenberg is Bremen's second-best goalscorer this season with ten goals in 32 games. He joined Bremen in 2007 and has made a total of 122 appearances, spending most of last season on loan with Racing Santander. Saturday's match with Schalke will now be his last for the club.
"It was a wonderful time for Markus, but unfortunately it is now ending," his agent, Martin Dahlin, told the Bild newspaper. "He will look for a new challenge and he has offers from within the Bundesliga and from abroad."
