Reds crash at Anfield, Toffees held

Fulham upset a weakened Liverpool side's preparations for this week's FA Cup final with a 1-0 Premier League victory at Anfield.

Martin Skrtel's first half own goal was the difference in the game on Merseyside, as the Slovakian defender could only watch in horror as Danny Murphy's cross ricocheted off him and beyond Alexander Doni in goal after only five minutes.

The result moves the Cottagers level on points with Kenny Dalglish's side, who face Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday and seemed to have their minds on that forthcoming game.

It was Fulham's first victory on Merseyside, against either Liverpool or Everton, in 49 attempts and gave Martin Jol's side a Premier League double over the Reds this season.

Everton were also the beneficiaries of an own goal as Peter Crouch's inopportune touch gave them the lead at the end of the opening 45 minutes against Stoke.

But Cameron Jerome, who came on in place of Crouch, equalised just moments after his introduction to grab a 1-1 draw and a share of the points for Tony Pulis's side at the Britannia Stadium.
