LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham remained on course for a place at London 2012 after being named in Stuart Pearce's 80-man shortlist for the Team GB squad at the Olympic football tournament.
All four home nations have representation, with Wolves' Scottish striker Steven Fletcher and Northern Ireland and West Brom midfielder Christ Brunt also among those on the shortlist.
Beckham, who was part of the bid team that successfully brought the Olympics to the capital, is hoping to be named as one of three over-age picks when the final 18-man squad is named at the end of May.
Pearce is due to talk about his plans for Team GB next week, when the draw for the Olympic football tournament takes place at Wembley on Tuesday.
The last time a Great Britain team competed in the competition was at the 1960 games in Rome.
All but one of the 16 qualifiers for this summer's Olympics have been decided, with the final spot going to the winner of the AFC-CAF play-off between Senegal and Oman next Monday.
Men's Olympic football tournament qualifiers: Great Britain (hosts), South Korea, Japan, UAE, Gabon, Morocco, Egypt, Mexico, Honduras, Brazil, Uruguay, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and Belarus.
