Cervera to leave hospital

Racing Santander coach Alvaro Cervera is set to be given the all-clear to leave hospital on Tuesday following a heart scare.

Cervera, 46, was admitted to hospital on Friday evening as a precaution after feeling unwell during a training session and he missed Sunday's 1-1 draw at Villarreal.

However, the news about Cervera appears to be good, with Racing saying in a statement: "The Racing coach Alvaro Cervera has undergone a coronary scan this morning with the result being normal, ruling out existing coronary disease.

"As such the coach will, probably, be discharged tomorrow.''

Former Spain international Cervera became Racing's third coach of the season when he took charge last month but he has been unable to turn around the team's poor form, with the latest draw leaving them bottom of the Primera Division standings on 26 points, 10 adrift of 17th-placed Granada and safety.

The Cantabrian side are at home to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
