Abidal recovering well - Pep

In his Friday press conference ahead of this weekend's encounter with Levante, Pep Guardiola has revealed that defender Eric Abidal is recovering well from a liver transplant.

Guardiola is continuing to give out cautious messages about the operation that took place on Tuesday, but both the manager and club president Sandro Rosell have revealed that initial reports are positive.

"He is doing well," the Barca boss told reporters at a press conference on Friday. "The doctors told me that everything is going as planned. That's the best news we can have."

Abidal had initially undergone treatment in 2011 to remove a tumour, but has now undergone a full transplant to continue his recovery from the initial cancer.

The club have not made any comment on when the player will return to action, with Abidal unlikely to feature at Euro 2012.
