Pogrebnyak opens contract talks
Pavel Pogrebnyak has opened discussions with Fulham over whether or not he will stay at the club next season.
Pogrebnyak, 28, has made a big impression since arriving at Craven Cottage in January from Stuttgart on a deal until the end of the season.
The Russian striker has netted five times in seven Premier League starts - although injury has ruled him out of the most recent two fixtures - and boss Martin Jol is eager to keep him in London.
"Yes, the negotiations about my contract with Fulham have already begun," Pogrebnyak is quoted as saying by sport.mail.ru. "My agent has already talked to the management of the club. I think there's a big chance that I will stay in England.
"Me, the coach and the management, we are all solid on the question regarding my future."
Aston Villa have also been linked with a move for Pogrebnyak.
