In-form Schalke frontman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has hailed the longevity of strike partner Raul, and revealed a decision about his own future will be made "in the coming weeks".
The former Real Madrid pair have plundered an impressive 60 goals between them so far this season, but the future of both players is the subject of intense speculation in Germany.
Raul's contract expires in the summer but Huntelaar has no doubt that the 34-year-old, who has only failed to score ten or more goals in two of his 18 campaigns as a professional, can continue at the highest level.
"He has had a super career, and he still performs week in week out," Huntelaar told DPA. " He is still enjoying his football, but most importantly he is still fit from head to toe. The will and the strength are still there."
Huntelaar's sensational scoring form has seen him linked with a move away from the Gelsenkirchen, with Bayern Munich and Juventus reportedly among his admirers, though Schalke have tabled a lucrative offer to try to convince him to stay.
The Dutchman would not reveal whether he is close to penning a new deal with the Royal Blues, but did confirm that a decision will be made about his future soon.
"I have received a good offer from Schalke," Huntelaar said. "I will make a decision in the coming weeks."
