Campedelli orders training shake-up

Frustrated Cesena president Igor Campedelli has ordered the club's players to train away from the city in a bid to improve their flagging fortunes.

Cesena lie at the foot of the standings, 14 points adrift of safety with 10 Serie A games remaining. Their last victory dates back to January 15 and they have collected just two points since.

"I am bitter and disappointed,'' Campedelli said on the club's official website. "I have tried to transmit to this team sporting dignity and love for these colours.

"But I have to say all my efforts have so far been in vain. I have made three coaching changes but it hasn't brought the reaction I expected from the players. I expected a lot more, especially from the veterans. I still see a team that limits itself to doing just enough but is empty in terms of emotions.

"I reiterate that we can be relegated but not in this manner. From today the team will train away from Cesena until further notice. Only those that show motivation and play for the team instead of focusing on their personal stats will play.

"I hope that from here on until the end of the campaign someone makes me eat my words.''

Cesena host Parma on Sunday on the back of last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Cagliari, their sixth loss in their last seven games.
