Rosicky snubbed 'huge' offers

Midfielder Tomas Rosicky claims he shunned "very lucrative" offers in order to commit his future to Arsenal.

• Rosicky signs new Arsenal contract

Rosicky, 31, signed a new contract with the Gunners earlier this week - just a few months before his previous deal was due to expire.

"I had just half a year on my contract and could talk to anyone I wanted," Rosicky said, according to the Sun.

"I had very lucrative offers and this turned my head a little. In both cases they were huge numbers financially."

The Czech Republic international has probably produced his best form at Arsenal over the past few weeks, playing a pivotal role in home victories over Tottenham, AC Milan and Newcastle.

He joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in 2006 as a replacement for Robert Pires, but has frequently been absent due to a string of injuries.
