Jermain Defoe's late goal for Tottenham was crucial right at the end of the last gameweek, as it gave Dale a last-ditch correct scoreline which enabled him to snatch a draw against a resurrgent Tommy for the second time in three weeks. Tommy is now really breathing down the neck of the Rest of the World team. Looking to get a much-needed win for the ROTW this week is Ekow Amoah who is from Accra in Ghana. Ekow tells us: "I am a 37 years young radio sports presenter here in Ghana, West Africa. I am an ardent Man United fan with a soft spot for Spurs. My favourite player of all time is the one and only Zinadine Zidane and it has nothing to do with the fact that I am also balding but purely football!" Let's see those predictions!
For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on Press Pass' Tommy Smyth and ESPNsoccernet journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.
Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result
After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.
Tommy could be seen running around ESPN Towers in Bristol in wild celebration as Thomas Vermaelen's 95th minute goal turned a win for the Rest of the World into a win for himself! Amazing scenes!
