Napoli want to avoid UCL exit - Sarri

Fergie fears Saha could haunt United

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes former Red Devils striker Louis Saha will pose a serious threat when his side face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

• Fergie: Spurs game massive

United travel to White Hart Lane for a difficult away match as they look to keep pace with Premier League leaders Manchester City, and Ferguson has said he would be happy to "survive" the fixture.

Third-placed Tottenham go into the game stung by an embarrassing 5-2 defeat in the North London derby against Arsenal, but Saha, who left United in 2008 to join Everton, scored the opening goal at the Emirates and faces his former side in a hot streak of form.

The France international has scored three goals in three starts since his January switch from Everton and Ferguson knows the 33-year-old could prove to be a handful.

"I don't know the circumstances behind Louis Saha's transfer but Everton were happy to let him go," he told Inside United, "and then he goes to Spurs and scores two goals [against Newcastle]. That's typical of Louis. He's got tremendous talent, he just doesn't play enough.

"He is a handful, no doubt about that. He's got two great feet, he's quick, he's got a good spring in the air. There's no doubt he is a handful."

Sunday's clash could prove pivotal to both clubs' title chances, with Tottenham currently eight points behind United and ten adrift of leaders City.

Ferguson said: "It's going to be a massive game. If we can survive that one, then we'll have a big chance of winning the league."
