Bolton midfielder Sean Davis has joined Championship club Bristol City on a one-month emergency loan deal.
Davis has undergone two knee operations since making his last competitive appearance for Bolton in August 2009, and is hoping to relaunch his career with a spell in the west country.
"It's been a long time for me since playing," Davis said. "I've been injured for 27 months. Since Christmas I've been back training and playing reserve team football but I need competitive games.
"It was getting frustrating. The manager at Bolton, Owen Coyle, said it would be good for me to go out and get first team games in the Championship. It gives me the chance to play regularly, help out Bristol City and then go back to Bolton and try to force my way back into the team."
Davis has been given the squad number 10 and included in Bristol City's squad for their game against Blackpool on Saturday.
