Lille starlet Eden Hazard will not move to big-spending Ligue 1 rivals Paris St Germain, according to club president Michel Seydoux.
Hazard has been linked with a transfer to the current French league leaders, along with Premier League clubs Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea as a summer switch appears increasingly likely. However, in a boost for the English sides, Seydoux moved swiftly to rule out any sale to clubs within France.
"Hazard to PSG? We're not going to reinforce a French team," Seydoux said.
The Lille president also explained the challenges confronted by Ligue 1 clubs in keeping their best players, as stars continue to look for opportunities in more lucrative leagues.
"The difficulty for French clubs is to keep their players. We don't have an economy like other European clubs to be able to keep our top players," Seydoux told RMCsport. "The only club in the league with unlimited resources is PSG. We have to be intelligent to do as well with less, which isn't easy."
