Granero warns against complacency

Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero has urged his team-mates not to underestimate Getafe ahead of this Saturday's trip across the city to the Coliseum.

• Ozil at Real for the long haul

Jose Mourinho's side currently enjoy a seven-point lead over rivals Barcelona at the top of the Primera Division, with Los Blancos chasing a first league title in four years.

But Granero believes that Real cannot afford to take their current position for granted and warned that they must avoid any complacency in fixtures like this weekend's if they are to claim the championship crown.

"The cushion we have in La Liga will not be a reason for us to relax," Granero told Real Madrid's official website. "We know we still have to play practically the entirety of the return leg and many of our games will be like finals.

"The one in Getafe will be the first and we cannot afford to drop points anywhere. You win the title by winning every game. It is always difficult to play at the Coliseum because it is a complicated venue.

"Other teams are always especially motivated to face Real Madrid and Getafe also happen to play good football. They usually complicate things for us.

"We're having a good run in the championship so we must keep up. We must showcase the same attitude and keep scoring. We have to continue to be competitive and I believe we will win if we give 100%."

Granero, who was linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in the January transfer window, enjoyed a rare start for Real in last week's 3-1 victory over Real Zaragoza and will be hoping to keep his place against Getafe.
