Lucas Barrios says he chose to stay at Borussia Dortmund because of the support he had received from fans.
Barrios, 27, was strongly linked with a move to Fulham as the January transfer window drew to a close, but no move came to fruition.
The Paraguay striker has rejected suggestions that Dortmund's asking price caused the move to break down and insists that he decided to stay after receiving a positive reception from the fans when introduced as a substitute against Hoffenheim.
"Dortmund's financial demands have nothing to do with it," he said in Bild. "I stayed here because of the fans. The support they showed me last weekend made me realise that I shouldn't leave this club.
"I am completely focused on Borussia now, and I'm not thinking about a possible summer exit. I just want to be successful again here. I don't care about anything else at the moment."
