Bayer Leverkusen keen on Corluka

German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are hoping to take Tottenham Hotspur defender Vedran Corluka on loan until the end of the season

Corluka was first-choice right-back at White Hart Lane last season, but has been edged out this term thanks to the excellent form of England youngster Kyle Walker.

Leverkusen have asked Tottenham if they can take the 25-year-old Croatian, who has made just one Premier League start this season, on loan until the summer.

Corluka is one of a number of fringe players who could leave Tottenham before Tuesday night's transfer window shuts at 23.00 GMT.

Another seven players - including the likes of Giovani Dos Santos, Sebastien Bassong and Roman Pavlyuchenko - are known to want out of the club as they are frustrated at their lack of first-team football.

Other Spurs players who could be the subject of interest today are goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, midfield duo Steven Pienaar and Niko Kranjcar - who have been linked with London rivals QPR - and England striker Jermain Defoe.

Pavlyuchenko has been strongly linked with a return to his homeland in the last few weeks as he wants to cement his place in the Russia side ahead of Euro 2012.

Reports this morning claimed the 30-year-old striker, who has dropped down the pecking order following the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor, launched a tirade against Tottenham assistant Kevin Bond during a training session on Sunday over his lack of game time.
