PSG sign Chelsea defender Alex

Chelsea defender Alex has completed his move to French club Paris St Germain, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The French Ligue 1 leaders have been tracking the 29-year-old Brazilian since he was placed on the transfer window last month and have snapped him up for around £4 million.

PSG sporting director Leonardo joined Alex in addressing the media in a press conference broadcast live by PSG TV on Friday evening.

"It was a good opportunity given his price and his desire to join PSG," PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti told a news conference.

Alex joined Chelsea from Santos in 2004, having gained experience of the European game after a loan spell with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven from 2004 to 2007.
