Bond: Redknapp will be in dugout

Tottenham assistant Kevin Bond believes Harry Redknapp's trial will not affect the club's preparation for Friday's FA Cup game against Watford.

• Preview: Watford v Tottenham

Spurs boss Redknapp has not been able to take a training session this week as he has been at Southwark Crown Court contesting two counts of cheating the public revenue.

But Redknapp will return to the dugout when he takes charge of Tottenham's FA Cup fourth-round clash against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Bond, who has been organising the club's training sessions along with coaches Clive Allen and Joe Jordan this week, reckons the manager's absence has had little impact on the club and is confident the players will be able to perform well.

"Clearly the manager is not here, but very little (has changed) really,'' Bond told a news conference. "The training carries on pretty much as normal and everybody has been getting on with things as normal so there's not really a lot of difference except obviously Harry is not here during the day.

"We had a similar scenario a few weeks ago when Harry had a small (heart) procedure done and he wasn't here for a week or so leading up to the Fulham game.''

Bond has been talking regularly to Redknapp throughout the first week of his trial and confirmed that the Spurs boss will make the journey from Southwark to Watford to take his place in the dugout.

Redknapp's trial is expected to finish at the end of next week. He denies all charges against him.

Spurs will give tests to Gareth Bale (thigh), Scott Parker (hamstring) and Younes Kaboul (groin) after all three came off in training yesterday, Bond revealed.
