Taarabt keen to stay at QPR
QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt says the arrival of Mark Hughes as the club's new manager has made him change his mind about leaving Loftus Road.
Taarabt, 22, has struggled for form this season, despite being QPR's star player as they won the Championship to secure promotion back to the Premier League last year.
It had seemed certain that the Morocco international, on duty at the African Nations Cup at present, would be sold in January, but Taarabt says he now wants to prove himself to Hughes.
"I think we needed that [a managerial change]. I had good years with Neil Warnock but we were in a bad position," Taarabt told BBC Sport. "I think if Mark Hughes was not coming in maybe I was leaving in January.
"I spoke with the chairman and the situation now has changed. They want to keep me and we're going to have a discussion when we come back.
"Mark Hughes is a great manager and I think the chairman is giving him money so he's buying players. I'm going to meet him and see what's going to happen."
