Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni will be presented by Malaga on Thursday after completing his move from Espanyol.
Kameni was released from his contract with the Catalan club last week and arrived in Malaga on Wednesday night to pen an initial two-and-a-half-year deal at La Rosaleda.
The 27-year-old joined Espanyol from French club Le Havre in 2004 and played more than 200 league games for them, winning the 2006 Copa del Rey and reaching the 2007 UEFA Cup final during his time at the club.
Big-spending Malaga, who are currently eighth in the Primera Division standings, have also announced they have reached an agreement to extend the contract of their existing first-choice goalkeeper Willy Caballero, 30, for a further three seasons until the end of the 2015-16 season.
Meanwhile, Espanyol have confirmed that striker Sergio Garcia is set to be sidelined for between "six and eight'' weeks after successfully undergoing an operation on his knee injury this morning.
That means the 28-year-old Spain international, who has scored seven goals in all competitions this season, could miss up to 10 Primera Division matches as well as next week's Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg against Mirandes. Espanyol are ninth in the league standings on 25 points.
