Zidan or Barrios facing Dortmund exit
Borussia Dortmund forward Mohamed Zidan has revealed that either he or team-mate Lucas Barrios will be leaving the German champions this winter.
Zidan, 30, has told the Bild newspaper that he and Barrios are frustrated at their lack of playing opportunities and that they are assessing offers - but only one will be allowed to leave.
"I am now 30 and I want to be playing regularly and not be second or third choice much longer,'' Zidan said. "Dortmund will only release me if Barrios stays, though. It's either Lucas or me - only one of us can leave.''
Barrios has lost his place this season due to an injury he picked up at the Copa America and he is attracting interest from clubs in Spain.
Egypt international Zidan has never been a regular at Dortmund, although he values his relationship with coach Jurgen Klopp, who also signed him when in charge of Mainz before bringing him to Dortmund.
"In my heart, I will always be a Borussian,'' Zidan said. "I love this club and I won my first league title here. Dortmund will always be something special to me.''
