Lyon march into semis

Lyon edged out Lille 2-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue as both teams finished the game with 10 men.

Mouhamadou Dabo was sent off for Lyon after just 11 minutes and Joe Cole gave reigning Ligue 1 champions Lille the lead 17 minutes later.

Kim Kallstrom scored just before half-time to pull Lyon level before Lisandro Lopez netted the winner with 25 minutes to go. To make things worse for Lille they had Mathieu Bebuchy sent off for a second booking with eight minutes remaining.

Nice came from behind three times before finally beating Dijon on penalties after the teams played out a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The visitors took the lead through Thomas Guerbert after 19 minutes before Anthony Mounier levelled on 35. Brice Jovial restored Dijon's lead before Renato Civelli took the game into extra time.

A penalty by Eric Bautheac put Dijon ahead once again but Lucaino Fabian Monzon scored to ensure the game went to penalties, with Nice taking the shootout 5-3.

In the night's other quarter-final, Lorient were 1-0 winners away to Le Mans. Following a goalless first half the only goal was scored by substitute Gilles Sunu with 20 minutes to go.
