Barcelona full-back Maxwell is set to join big-spending French side Paris Saint-Germain after the Catalan club revealed that talks were underway over his exit.
Maxwell, 30, has made only 12 appearances so far this season and has not established himself as a first-team regular after arriving at the Nou Camp from Inter Milan in the summer of 2009.
The Brazilian defender has won ten medals at the club, but wants to move to Ligue 1 to get more playing time.
"Maxwell came to see us and he told us he had an offer from PSG and he would like to accept it," said Barca boss Pep Guardiola. "He wants to leave and if he reaches an agreement the club will not stand in the way."
Maxwell will travel to the French capital to finalise his contract and also undergo a medical and a club statement read: "Once these details are resolved, the transfer agreement can be finalised."
