Fernandes: No job at QPR is safe

QPR owner Tony Fernandes has heaped pressure on manager Neil Warnock by insisting that no-one's job at the club is safe.

Rangers can boast only one Premier League win since October 23 and now find themselves just one point above the drop zone.

Warnock has long stated he wants four new signings in the January transfer window and Fernandes has said funds will be available, but his comments on social networking site Twitter have placed a more intense scrutiny on the manager.

"Its important to note no one job is safe," Fernandes wrote. "Results are key. If I don't deliver I would be the first to step down as chairman.

"We owe it to all the fans. Good money is paid and results are key. I will leave no stone unturned to make QPR a success. But if I fail I have to go. I will give it 150 percent effort."

Fernandes rejected accusations he was withholding transfer funds and QPR's business in January will have a large say in their bid to beat the drop back down to the Championship.

"There is no freeze of cash," Fernandes said. "Don't listen to ambiguous press reports. We are disappointed where we are in the league.

"This is a journey not a sprint. Along the way we learn. But we continue to develop and along the way hard decisions need to be made. But we never stop moving. Never."

QPR are thought to have lodged bids for Blackburn's Chris Samba and Fulham striker Andy Johnson but both have been dismissed.

"I think it would not be best for us to sell him to whatever club for a lower fee," Martin Jol, the Fulham manager, said on Friday. "Of course he will stay here and if he is not signing he can leave at the end of the season."

Warnock has secured the loan signing of Federico Macheda from Manchester United and says he wants another striker and two defenders in the window.

"We are working very hard behind the scenes and before Newcastle [on Jan 15] we want them in place," Warnock said. "We have got options for a number of positions and it is like everybody else as you don't know whether you are going to sign anybody until the actual signature is on the paper.

"Things change. This week a couple of my targets were made out of bounds now so you look elsewhere. There is money to spend but I am not going to throw it away stupidly. I know there are targets and Tony Fernandes is doing his best."
