Inter rubbish Tevez-Sneijder swap talk

Inter Milan have confirmed talks have taken place with Manchester City for the transfer of Carlos Tevez, but dismissed suggestions Wesley Sneijder could be included in any deal.

• Inter launch formal bid to sign Tevez
• Milan look to seal Tevez deal

City are desperate to offload Tevez, with manager Roberto Mancini being told to sell before he can buy, and have held talks with AC Milan over the forward. But Inter entered the race this week and sent a delegation to England to discuss a deal.

Talks took place on Thursday, with Inter seemingly prepared to meet City's demand for a permanent move rather than a loan deal, but they are not interested in including Netherlands international Sneijder - a target for Manchester United - as part of the deal.

"There were no discussions whatsoever regarding Wesley Sneijder during our meeting in London with representatives of Manchester City," Inter sporting director Marco Branca told the club's official website.

Inter manager Claudio Ranieri went one step further, declaring Sneijder would not be sold under any circumstance in January, saying: "Sneijder is an Inter player and he will remain with us."

Tevez is currently in his native South America, while his agent revealed this week that he had travelled to Rio to thrash out a deal with AC Milan.

La Gazzetta dello Sports front page on Friday pictured Tevez having lunch with his advisor Kia Joorabchian and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliano in Rio.
