Erik Pieters booking transferred to Bruno Martins Indi - Stoke City

Stoke have confirmed that the yellow card issued by referee Craig Pawson to Erik Pieters in Saturday's home draw with Leicester has been transferred to Bruno Martins Indi in a case of "mistaken identity."

Some of Pawson's decisions in the 2-2 draw have already been subjected to scrutiny after he sent Jamie Vardy off for a challenge on Mame Diouf and gave the hosts a penalty for a debatable handball against Danny Simpson.

He had believed Pieters was the man guilty of a 68th-minute foul on Simpson, but the punishment has now been transferred.

Stoke tweeted on Tuesday that the card had been transferred because of "mistaken identity."

Speaking after the match, Pieters said: "It was not a yellow for me -- I wasn't even close to this guy.

"I don't know what they're going to do with that but it was not a yellow card for me.''

He sarcastically added: "There's a big difference between me and Bruno. Same colour, same hair, I think it's difficult to see..."

The Foxes, who face a Football Association fine having also had six players cautioned by Pawson, have contested Vardy's dismissal on the grounds that they believe he was knocked off balance by Glen Johnson as he challenged Diouf.
