Simone Zaza scores twice as Valencia beat Granada to continue resurgence

Simone Zaza scored twice as Valencia racked up a third straight La Liga win at relegation strugglers Granada.

Los Che followed home victories over Deportivo La Coruna and Celta Vigo with a 3-1 success at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes, with Zaza netting twice in as many first-half minutes.

Santi Mina had laid on the second for the on-loan Juventus forward and went himself in the 55th minute to effectively settle the game.

Ezequiel Ponce gave the home fans something to cheer with a smart run and finish but there was no further fightback.

Eibar stepped up their Europa League challenge by extending their unbeaten league run to five matches with a 2-0 win at Celta Vigo.

Kike crashed home his fourth goal in five appearances in spectacular fashion to give Eibar a first-half lead, and winger Pedro Leon fired his 11th of the season, also from outside the area, early in the second period.

Celta rallied in the closing stages and Iago Aspas' free kick struck the crossbar, but it was too little too late and they remain 10th having followed up two straight wins with back-to-back defeats.

Eibar secured their third successive league win to climb up two places to sixth.

Las Palmas bounced back from two straight away defeats to win 4-1 at home against Real Betis.

Goals from Vicente Gomez and Kevin-Prince Boateng either side of half-time put the Canary Islanders in control and Jonathan Viera added a third just after the hour mark.

Jese converted a late fourth for the home side from the penalty spot after he had been fouled by German Pezzella and Rafa Navarro's thunderbolt for Betis in the closing stages was scant consolation.

Las Palmas, who remain in 13th place, have won only once on their travels in the league this season but secured a ninth home success, while Betis slumped to their seventh defeat in their last 10 matches to stay 15th.

Sergio Leon struck twice as bottom club Osasuna beat Leganes 2-1 to clinch their first home league win of the season and keep their outside hopes of escaping relegation alive.

Leon scored his ninth and 10th goals of the campaign in either half as Osasuna made it back-to-back wins and closed the gap on fourth-bottom Leganes to 10 points with seven games to play.

Greek centre-half Dimitrios Siovas fired Leganes into a first-half lead from close range following a corner, but Osasuna equalised before the break through Leon's penalty after he had been fouled by Tito.

Leon made Leganes pay for several squandered chances when he fired his second after running on to Alex Berenguer's through ball and was denied his hat trick when a later effort hit a post.

Osasuna secured their first league victory since mid-October last week when they won 1-0 at Alaves.
