Real Madrid against Barcelona scheduled by La Liga for April 23

The second La Liga Clasico of the season between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place on Sunday April 23, the Spanish league has confirmed.

La Liga leaders Madrid, who drew the first game 1-1 at the Camp Nou in December, will welcome their rivals to the Santiago Bernabeu for an 8:45 p.m. CET kickoff.

The matchday 33 clash will take place several days after Madrid and Barcelona play their respective Champions League quarterfinal return legs against Bayern Munich on April 18 and Juventus 24 hours later.

Madrid, looking for their first league title since 2012, won 2-1 at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday to maintain their two-point advantage over defending champions Barcelona, who were 4-2 winners over Valencia on Sunday.

A last-minute Sergio Ramos header earned Madrid a 1-1 draw in the first game between the sides this season, a result that allowed Zinedine Zidane's team at the time to maintain a six-point lead over their rivals.

Next month's Clasico will be Luis Enrique's last in La Liga after announcing he will step down as Barca coach at the end of the season.
