Lionel Messi scored in the second half to salvage a 1-1 draw for Barcelona at Real Sociedad on Sunday, while the hosts had a winner incorrectly ruled out for offside.
Sociedad had nearly all the scoring chances in the first half, though they only managed to fire off-target or put in soft shots that Marc-Andre ter Stegen handled.
So it did not come as much of a surpise when Sociedad took the lead in the 53rd minute. Mexico international Carlos Vela ran in on goal and although Ter Stegen stopped his shot the rebound fell to Willian Jose to head in, and Gerard Pique on the line could not keep it from going in.
But the lead lasted only six minutes until Neymar dribbled down the wing and centred the ball for Messi, who took a touch before lashing home the equaliser.
