La Liga sets Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid derby for Feb. 27

The Madrid derby between Real Madrid and city rivals, Atletico Madrid, has been set for Saturday, Feb. 27, La Liga confirmed on Monday as it announced Week 26 kick-off times.

The other stand out fixture of the weekend sees Sevilla travel to Camp Nou to play Barcelona on Feb. 28.

Los Rojiblancos are reportedly unhappy over the scheduling. They play PSV Eindhoven in the Last 16 of the Champions League on the Wednesday before the clash, while opponents Madrid are in European action against Roma a full seven days earlier.

Real will therefore have the whole week to prepare for the derby, while Diego Simeone's men will barely have time to train for a game that could have a crunch impact on the title race.

The two clubs last met on Oct. 4, 2015 and played to a 1-1 draw.
