David Moyes staying determined as pressure mounts at Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad coach David Moyes is not concerned about mounting speculation over his future after a difficult start to the La Liga season but says he hopeful the team's luck changes soon.

Moyes' side went into the new season with high hopes following a positive summer transfer window, however just two points from their first four games see the team currently sitting in the lower reaches of the table.

La Real were unable to score in their first three outings, but seemed set for their first win of the season when 1-0 up at home to Espanyol on Sunday. However, an eventful game finished 3-2 to the visitors after Txuri-Urdin keeper Gero Rulli was sent off and then his replacement Oier Olazabal conceded in injury time.

This means former Manchester United boss is coming under increasing pressure from fans and pundits in San Sebastian ahead of Tuesday night's game at Granada, he said he would keep doing his work as before and hope for a change of fortune soon.

"I've been a manager a long time, I'm very experienced," Moyes said. "I've been in this situation many times. Sometimes you don't always win, you don't always get what you deserve.

"I think we deserve to have more from the first four games. The last game I think we were very unlucky. And I think the other games we deserved to take something. I just keep doing the right things, preparing the players correctly, you can only ever do the right things. And that is what we are doing."

Moyes said it was still very early in the season to start drawing big conclusions, while stressing again that bad luck had played a role especially during the home loss to Espanyol.

"We are very early at the start of the season," he said. "We want to do better, like every other club. We do good work, the players train well, we prepare well. Sometimes football changes, when you least expect it.

"Undoubtedly we did not have much good fortune in the last game, we were 1-0 up and playing well when we had the goalkeeper sent off and conceded the penalty. So I think you have to look at things in the correct way. We just need something to go for us in a game."

Nobody at the club was yet looking ahead to what looks like a hugely significant derby at home to neighbours Athletic Bilbao next Sunday at Anoeta, Moyes claimed.

"Our next game is Granada, all the focus is on trying to win that game," he said. "The next game is always the most important game."
