Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Lionel Messi like 'white truffles vs. caviar,' says Luis Figo

Choosing between Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi is like deciding between "white truffles and caviar," according to Portugal great and former FIFA world player of the year Luis Figo, who added that comparing them "is not very positive."

The differences between the two players "depend upon the moment of fitness of each one" and what we should be doing is enjoying the "qualities" of each rather than comparing one to the other, Figo said during an event for La Liga ambassadors on Thursday.

Former Real Madrid and Brazil left back Roberto Carlos also took a side in the conversation at Thursday's event, saying that Neymar is better than either Ronaldo or Messi.

The current Delhi Dynamos coach said Neymar fares better at Barcelona than with the Selecao because "he is more comfortable having Messi and Luis Suarez by his side but having to be a leader in Brazil is too much responsibility."

Figo, meanwhile, despite eschewing the comparisons between the two current La Liga greats, admitted that they were the only Ballon d'Or candidates.

"It is no different than in past years, it will be between Cristiano and Messi," he said.
