Spanish court releases four suspects in death of Deportivo fan

MADRID -- A Spanish court has released four suspects in the death of a fan following a brutal street fight between rival "ultra" groups in the Spanish capital in November.

Madrid's Court No. 20 says the judge released the four men after "statements by two witnesses created more than reasonable doubts about their direct participation in the acts that caused the death."

The court says the four were still charged for having participated in the large fight before the Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna match on Nov. 30.

Francisco Javier Romero Taboada, a Deportivo "ultra," died from injuries received when he was beaten before being pushed into Madrid's Manzanares River.
