Andres Iniesta out 3 weeks after injury in Barcelona's loss to Madrid

Spain international Andres Iniesta will miss Barcelona's next four matches after straining his right calf, AS reports.

Iniesta had been withdrawn in the 72nd minute of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Real Madrid on Saturday after suffering discomfort in his right calf and, while Barca have not yet officially revealed the extent of the injury, a medical test carried out on Sunday revealed his condition will require a recovery period of approximately three weeks.

"I start my recovery to be ready as soon as possible with the team," the player said on Sunday on Twitter.

Iniesta, who has suffered problems with his right calf in the past, is therefore set to miss Wednesday's Copa Catalunya final against Espanyol as well as league games against Celta Vigo and Almeria, and the Champions League match against Ajax on Nov. 5.

He is also likely to miss Spain's Euro 2016 qualifier at home to Belarus on Nov. 15 and the friendly with world champions Germany three days later.
