Gracia appointed Osasuna coach
Former Almeria boss Javi Gracia has been appointed Jose Luis Mendilibar's successor at Osasuna, signing a two-year contract with the La Liga club.
Osasuna sit bottom of the Primera Division and three losses from as many games to start the season led to Mendilibar being sacked on Tuesday.
Gracia helped Almeria gain promotion to La Liga last season, but failed to agree to terms on a new contract with the club.
He will return to his home town, tasked with resurrecting Osasuna's fortunes and will be presented at the club's training base on Thursday.
A statement on Osasuna's official website read: "Osasuna and Javier Gracia at 1700 (CET) this (Wednesday) afternoon signed a contract for the coach to take charge of the first team, along with (assistant) coach Juan Solla. The contract binds Javier Gracia and Juan Solla with Osasuna over the next two years.
"Javier Gracia will take training on Thursday from 1000 (CET) and will then be presented at the Instalaciones de Tajonar, accompanied by president Miguel Archanco."
