Valencia to loan out Adil Rami

Adil Rami has been frozen out at Valencia.
Adil Rami is set for a loan spell.

Valencia are set to loan out Adil Rami, with the team having won all three games since the France international defender was dropped for a public outburst aimed at his team-mates and coach Miroslav Djukic.

Rami has not trained since being sent home by Djukic after calling many of his fellow Los Che players ‘two-faced’ and claiming Djukic had broken a promise to play him more often.

Under La Liga rules Rami cannot be further punished by the club, and must be allowed back to training after ten days.

Players' union chief Luis Manuel Rubiales has reportedly met with Valencia president Amadeo Salvo to discuss the situation -- and if another club can be found to pay the former Lille defender’s wages a loan deal may suit all involved.

Valencia’s problems do not end there however -- with first-choice goalkeeper Diego Alves now out for a month with a thigh injury, and the club’s other senior keeper Guaita not 100 percent fit at present.

Right-back Joao Pereira is also set for three weeks on the sidelines having picked up a similar thigh muscle problem in Saturday’s narrow 1-0 home win over Rayo Vallecano.

Nevertheless the team’s results have improved on the pitch since Rami’s attack -- with Jonas Goncalves scoring four goals in six days, as Sevilla, Granada and Rayo were all beaten in La Liga.

Guaita, who has been named in the travelling squad for Thursday’s Europa League group game at Kuban Krasnodar, told his club’s website that the players had realised a change in attitude was required.

“We must continue with the same dynamic because we had not done well at all [before],” the 'keeper said. “We recognised that if we did not pull together in these last three games, we were not going to pick up any points.

"The team realised this and has reacted. We must continue with the same dynamic and work-rate, we cannot let up because we are wary of repeating our mistakes. We must continue to work and put in the effort.”
