Real Madrid have announced the permanent signing of Brazil midfielder Casemiro from Sao Paulo for a reported €6 million.

Madrid have exercised their option to sign Casemiro after he joined the club on loan earlier this season and he has put pen to paper on a four-year contract.

The 21-year-old made 15 appearances for the Real Madrid ‘B’ team in the Segunda Division, scoring once, and made a solitary appearance for the senior side in the 3-1 victory over Real Betis in April.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “Real Madrid C.F. have used their purchase option to buy Carlos Henrique 'Casemiro' and as a result he will be a first team player at the club for the next four seasons.”
