Arda Turan hat trick fuels Barcelona; Sevilla score nine in Copa del Rey win

Barcelona shrugged off Hercules 7-0 to win 8-1 on aggregate in their Copa del Rey round-of-32 tie on Wednesday at the Camp Nou.

Summer signing Paco Alcacer scored his maiden goal for the club, while Lucas Digne, Ivan Rakitic, Rafinha and a Arda Turan hat trick completed the rout of the overmatched Segunda B side.

And it was the French left-back who put Barca ahead in the 37th minute with a calm, poked finish after collecting a loose ball in the box.

Rakitic added Barca's second from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time after Fernando Roman fouled Turan in the box.

And Barca poured it on after the break, with Rafinha and Turan scoring within the first 10 minutes of the reset.

Alcacer collected his long-awaited first goal in the 73rd, and Turan added two more strikes in the final five minutes to cap the easy win.

Luciano Vietto and Wissam Ben Yedder both bagged hat-tricks as Sevilla crushed Formentera 9-1 and 14-2 on aggregate.

Pablo Sarabia claimed a brace, with Ganso completing the humiliation.

Gabri netted the meagre response from the outclassed visitors.

Kike's double and a third from Adrian Gonzalez eased Eibar past Sporting Gijon 3-1 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate.

Ruben Sanchez Perez-Cejuela claimed a consolation for the visitors, but Eibar strode through.

Rodrigo's two-goal haul guided Valencia past Leganes 2-1 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate, with Darwin Machis on target in reply for the visitors.

Alex Berenguer and Jaime Romero Gomez struck to edge Osasuna past Granada 2-0 on Wednesday -- and 2-1 on aggregate.

Alejandro Arribas, Luisinho and Ryan Babel all found the net as Deportivo La Coruna held off Real Betis 3-1, and 3-2 across the two legs.

Cristiano Piccini's goal for Betis set up a frenetic finish, but Deportivo held out.
