Copa del Rey: Real Sociedad, Alaves, Athletic Bilbao all record wins

Raul Garcia's brace helped Athletic Bilbao win.

Real Sociedad will take an advantage into their home leg of the Copa del Rey fourth round after winning 3-1 at Real Valladolid on Thursday.

The Primera Division side took the lead on six minutes when Inigo Martinez scored following a a corner, but Valladolid soon equalised through Jaime Mata's penalty.

But Juanmi's second-half brace ensured Sociedad will enjoy a two-goal edge in the second leg.

Alaves also have a large advantage after a 3-0 victory at Gimnastic, Gaizka Toquero finding the net twice before Christian Santos capped the scoring.

Raul Garcia scored twice as Athletic Bilbao won 2-1 at Racing Santander.

Athletic took the lead on 11 minutes, and though the hosts equalised through Heber Pena 12 minutes later, Garcia found his second before the half-hour mark.

Las Palmas were the only top-flight side to suffer a setback on Thursday after wasting a lead and drawing 2-2 at Huesca.

An early Felix Asdrubal penalty had Las Palmas ahead before Hernan Santana doubled the lead shortly after half-time.

But Huesca rallied to equalise, Juanjo Camacho scoring in the 65th minute before Juan Aguilera's 71st-minute strike.
